FASHUN trends

Home

I want to start by saying fashion is whatever you want it to be - whether that is wearing double demin, or two completely different patterns.

The purpose of this mini project is looking at what particular topics of fashion are trending: investigating Google trends or Twitter sentiment analysis. I briefly explain the main tools used and parameters in the Methodology but code is also available in the repository.

The first project I looked into Google trends and obtained data that is available on the GitHub. The Trends page includes correlations, seasonal trends, and possible upcoming trends.

The second project includes sentiment analysis of Twitter posts that included particular fashion terms. The data is not available as, although Twitter is an openly public social media platform, I didn’t want to share tweets from users without their individual consent. The Sentiment page describes and compares various fashion topic sentiments via boxplots and correlation heatmaps.

Finally, you can explore data via an interactive RShiny app.

End of page.
